If you are a regular at feeding the birds it is extra important to keep your feeders full in these frigid temperatures. The birds are needing to eat about every hour to hour & one half to keep their body heat up and since you've trained them to come to your feeder they are relying on you for food. I've filled my tray feeder twice today already and am having even the downy woodpeckers come in for food - it's that cold out there.
