Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone! I hope 2011 is a great year for you!
My amaryllis are in full bloom and they are just beautiful right now. I grow these every year to help me make it through the winter. They remind me that spring will come again. This picture does not do them justice.

Win FREE shoes Every Week for a Year!

I spotted this ad in my InStyle magazine. Go to their website at www.stylefind.com/winshoes to enter for a chance to win new shoes every week for a year from Saks Fifth Avenue! It says there are "thousands of other prizes" too from other companies as well. Could you imagine? Wowsa! This sweepstakes ends on 2/7/11 so you have plenty of time to sign up.

Check your boxes!

Oops, sorry the pic is on its side but hey it's New Year's Day!
Anyway, I just wanted to remind you all to train yourself to really LOOK INSIDE the boxes that offer chances to win something. You never know, you might be luckier than you thought and these companies KNOW that most people won't be checking the boxes.

Ace Hardware Dollar Days

Ace Hardware is have one of their Dollar Days Sales so be sure to check out the deals PLUS spend $25 between January 5-10 and get $5 off your next visit between 1/11 - 2/24/2011. And oh yes, be sure to use your ACE Rewards card to build up more points! Did you know that ACE Hardware accepts coupons? Yup. Some of the dollar items may have great coupons you can match up with for some super deals!
It all adds up!

Menards Rebates

If you're not familiar with rebates at Menards know that if you purchase a rebated item you have to pick up a special rebate submission slip at the customer service desk. Businesses offer rebates hoping that you forget to submit them. They make a ton of money this way so DON'T LET THEM WIN. Always treat your rebates like cash and pay attention so that you don't miss out.

Glee for $14.99 at Target

Only a few hours left to grab this deal a it expires today. I bought Glee for $44 at Walmart before Christmas and noticed this sale this week at Target. Well, a $30 difference is a lot of money so I grabbed my receipt and this ad and headed into Walmart and Price Matched at the Customer Service Desk. Yes, they gave my $30 back. Or, if you wanted to pick up any of these DVDs be sure to stop into Target today. Remember too that they will offer you a rain check if they are out of stock. Price matching and rain checks are something to always keep in mind.

Cheap DVD Player

I know it's late in the week but did you notice those cheap DVD players for $19.99 after $5 rebate at Menards through 1/2/11? I'm thinking it would be great for that TV you don't use very much that you have. Putting a TV cable in my kitchen was one of the best things I have done around the house. I enjoy playing my movies on my little TV in the kitchen while I bake or even wash dishes.
